Question. Are the new Supertrapp SE Slip Ons really last years HD SE's which HD does not sell anymore?
I have an 07 FLHRS coming and really like the stock looking mufflers. HD sells their new EPA compliant SE Touring Mufflers, but probably too quiet.
So, can I simply do the Stage1, HD download, with Supertrapp SE's?, and if still too lean then do a tuner?

That's similar to what I did on my '07 Ultra....SE intake w/K&N filter, SuperTrapp SE slipons and a PCIII USB. Works well. I started with a PCIII stock map, then tried a map that FuelMoto created for my setup.....not good. I went back to the stock map....much better. I was about to have it dynoed by a PCIII dynotuner (good advice), but a friend sent me a map he had done with a very good PCIII dynotuner with nearly identical mods. This map works great, but it isn't perfect. I'll probably go ahead and have it dynoed one of the days to get it spot-on. I didn't have the H-D Stage 1 download. Everything I've read says that's too lean.

Thanks. I love the stock FLHRS muffler look and the Supertrapp SE's with the tappered tip / slash up give that exact look. How is the Supertrapp SE Slipons sound, louder than stock, but not car alarm loud? Looking for that traditional Harley sound.

They sound good....as you say, traditional Harley sound. They're a tad louder (better tone, but similar loudness to older SEIIs) than I'd have hoped for based on the age-restricted community where I live. I really try hard not to offend my fellow oldies. :N_vieux01:
Interestingly, while smaller diameter, they weigh somewhat more than do the stock muffs. They're very well made and perfectly finished.

FWIW Somewhere I saw a link to a Joe Minton article in American Rider.
He highly recommended the Supertrapp Touring mufflers with stock headers.
I think he liked a specific baffle.
Maybe you can find it on the AR website.

Question. Supertrapp web site says SE's are 3 dba louder than HD stock mufflers. So, are they really like the older SE II's, does 3 dba really make a sound difference?

Hi Trooper!!
Hey, Steve...'sup?
I've got a very good indie near me who got a new Power Commmander dyno and computers a couple of weeks ago. We're going to put my Ultra on it tomorrow and play with it some. We'll see what numbers show up. I'll holler at you if it's anything interesting.

They do advertise 3 db louder than stock.....whatever that means. I'm not a sound expert or engineer, but my ST SEs are significantly louder than stock.
