Well guys you would know me from the VTF as claytp1. When I joined the VTF I committed the faux pas of not introducing myself properly. I decided to not make that mistake here.
About 15 months ago I got my first bike which just so happened to be the bike I dreamed about for the better part of 20 years. This of course being my red Fatboy. It didn't take too long to realize that as much as I loved the bike, it was missing in the power department. So off I went in search of how to improve the performance.
Into the VTF I stumbled. Man what a place for a newbie to find and learn about his machine! And onto a 98" kit I eventually went. What I had no idea was going to happen was the VTF was going to be quite a bit more than just a source of technical knowledge, but also a great source of laughter. The primary source of that coming from the Doofs.
I cannot tell you how many times while sitting at this keyboard I've broken out loud into laughter, garnering all kinds of looks from the wife. What I also cannot tell you is how many times those jokes, goofball (or doofball perhaps) threads and other humorous posts were so well timed.
This has been a tough year. In addition to a very stressful year at work and with friends marriages breaking up, it was about this time last year I lost a very dear aunt. It was also about that time that my family was having to come to grips with the fact that my dad was losing his battle against M.S. and an inoperable brain aneurysm. Sure enough this past New Year's day, my dad passed away. So let me thank you guys for the laughs, they were very therapeutic along with a few miles on the Fatboy.
I'm not going to get into whatever it was that happened at the old place, but just say that I've found in life that when one door closes another usually opens up. So I'd to think that's what's happened here and with that I say....
Cheers to the New Place!!
I look forward to the banter!
