We got Charlie maybe 15-17ish years ago when he was 12 weeks old. I hand fed the little guy and he was adorable. He was quite friendly for awhile but because I couldn't give him constant attention he became a finger bitter. Over the years Charlie became quite the talker. He would say among many things. "whatcha doin", "Hi Charlie" "where's chico". When you sneezed or laughed he would also start sneezing or laughing. Was pretty funny to hear.
But Charlie had a dark side.. He could cuss like a pirate. He knew more words then me and would mumble em when he said them. I guess he got em off my kids. :whistling:
There was this time many years ago when Charlie was on the floor chasing my old German Shepard around biting at her feet. Man that was hysterical, poor dog didn't know what to think.
Well Charlie was a Quaker parrot or also known as a Monk's Parrot

Last night my wife told me we had a death and brought the bird out to show me. The entire family walked over to see Charlie that one last time. It seems everyone of us had our own memories of that bird and were drawn to him at the same time.
Silly as this can sound.. writing this allowed me to remember a little friend who I did care about.
Crying now..
