Best to use fresh filet rather than frozen, but....

Coat in butter, liberally sprinkle some "Slap Yo Mama" (or you favorite Cajun seasoning) on both sides, charbroil.
Smother that in Étouffée.

Sorry Cap'n but I eat sushi too. Bait can be good. Shrimp, crab, herring, sardines, octopus, squid, eel ... lots of bait is good eatin. Just won't catch me eating any on that nasty, stinkin' mullet like the Floridians do.

ok here is my favorite fish dish !!

bag of crab boil
Bernaise sauce, Knolls and mccormick has a mix (should be sold around the gravy mixes)

uncle bens rice, the original

fish, it is best with mahi mahi, ling, or redfish

bring water and crab boil to a hard boil for at least 10 minutes

meanwhile cook the rice and make the bernaise sauce

turn heat off of water and "poach" the fish just long enough to cook it. it depends on how thick the fillet is. do not boil the fish.

lay rice out , put fillet on top and coat with bernaise.

I normally get it a Applebees...however, I too have a bag of frozen tilapia in the freezer. It's good grilled or rolled in corn meal, flour and egg and fried.

Low cal option.

Thaw the fillets.

Preheat oven to 375

Spray some pam in the bottom of a baking dish.

Place fillets in baking dish. Find a good cajun seasoning. Sprinkle on top of the fillet to taste and cook for 10-15 minutes depending on the thickness of the fillet.

Don't overcook, it will turn frozen fillet's into rubber fillet's....

However you do it, tartar sauce is a must....please refrain from any and all gay garnishes.

Reminds me of an ol' timers favorite saying that used to hang around the shop...................

"what's the difference between parsley and pussy?

You don't eat parsley!!"

Sounds like an excellent choice...being that I'm tryin' to stay away from fried food.

I'm svelte.

Isn't that some sort of European?

I thought you were a simple boy from the hills.

Tilapia is the fruit of the sea.

You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sautee it.

There's, Tilapia kebabs, Tilapia creole, Tilapia gumbo, pan fried, deep fried, stir fried Tilapia.

There's pineapple Tilapia and lemon Tilapia, coconut Tilapia, pepper Tilapia, Tilapia soup, Tilapia stew, Tilapia salad, Tilapia and potatoes, Tilapia burger, Tilapia sandwich...

That's, that's about it.

We had the first (of many) filets...for dinner tonight.

I think I need to work on my toaster oven teqniques...at least it wasnt' dry...just a bland. I sprinked cajun redfish seasoning on it, topped it with a couple onion slivers, and squeezed a little lemon on top. Stuck it in the oven for 15 min.

Tilapia "al vapor"...steamed in foil. A couple of filets....onion..jalapenos...fresh lime or lemon slices...a pinch of salt, pepper, chili powder, and cumin...seal the foil up tight...in the oven about 10 minutes at 350...steamed and tender and full of flavor. Waaaaaaaaaaaay good.
