I have had this problem for the last 4 or 5 years, if I am just riding normally it will shiff fine, but if I get on it, it seems like going from 4th to 5th, it doesn't go in, almost like hitting neutral.
90 FLHTC, running Redline Heavy shockproof in the tranny. 103,000 miles on it. Do they all do that?
sooner or later they all do with the miles you have the heavier the oil the worse it is but a look at the pawl mechanisim and fork should be checked going to andrews 5th gears sets help Ton being that it is back cut to alow easier engagement

My Evo does that too from time to time. I've been used to it.

Change out the shifter drum and indent roller to a new version that had a more positive indent.

I do respect the higer mileage, cause alot of guys would puss out and not ride it, or not take good enough care of it to reach 100k.

Ummm...I suppose the tranny must come out to do that, do I have to pull the engine out too??
As for the mileage, I am the 5th owner, it had 56,000 on it when I bought it.
