The Final War
Read Revelation 17:1–18
“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars,” Jesus said, “but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come” (Matthew 24:6). Whether it is conflict between nations, civil war, guerilla warfare, terrorism, or war among teenagers in street gangs, war exacts a huge price in terms of human misery and suffering. We wonder why people can’t learn to get along. Yet even in our own families there is conflict. Hurtful things are said and done that often destroy relationships unless we turn to the Lord for healing.
In the spiritual realm war also rages. The powers of darkness war against the Light as we draw ever closer to the final battle.
“They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers” (Revelation 17:14).
We know the outcome of this final war. The Lamb will prevail. The only question is whether we and our loved ones will be among the “called, chosen and faithful followers.”
Prayer Suggestion: Pray for family and friends who do not yet know the Lord.
