I went to the doctor for a routine checkup and had some blood work done.
My liver numbers were elevated and I had to go back for a Hepatitis screen.
The Hep A and B were clear but they sent me back for another Hep C test.
I have behaved myself for many years but Hep C can lay in wait for 20 years.
I will keep you all posted.

I have yet to talk to a specialist or find out the extent to the damage to my liver but I will remain positive and fight this with all my being.

I have too much I want to do to give up at 49 years old.

Just read this thread . You will make it thru this!!

I am also 1A, and am going thru this a second time. Tried a year ago, and the ribavirin made me too jaundice.
Now on week 16 of second time, started again Jan. 9th.
I am on a high dose cause of my size, but by week 12, I cleared the virus. I am undetectable and that is with the test for the tiniest cells.
I still ride whenever i want, I just adapt where ever needed. Like drinking lots of water and juice. No alcohol PERIOD! Its like miracle grow to C.
Look at this as its your enemy, fight it. It's not an easy fight, (side effects of meds) but it is one YOU CAN WIN.
Anything I can do to help, just drop me a line.
And if your a VET, make a claim now. They are being approved left and right because of the boot camp inoculations in the 60's and 70's.

Oh wow - I missed this thread up until now, but I'll be adding my prayers to everyone else's.

I put great faith in prayers, and the human body and spirit when combined with the miracles of modern medicine. :)
