What is best aftermarket source for filters.

also, when I picked up my bike from the shop after the 95" build, Carl the mechanic gave me one of these to put on the filter...

Those are extremely strong magnets that you put on the filter after your oil change.

I get my filters at Boise Cycle, where the engine was built. Been going there for all my major stuff since 94.

Those magnets look like the ones made by "Filtermag" last I checked some years back they ran in the $30-40 range. And they are extremly strong.:Cowbell:

You can get mags pretty cheap on ebay, or........


scrounge for some bad old hard drives and take them apart (very easy). there are EXTREMELY STRONG magnets in them.

Very true, and yes they are really Strong! Working for HP for 28+ years, when we used to build disc drives, I've managed to get a few of these, you can get blood blister if you're lucky or when two come together they can cut your skin open.
I recall when disc drives were the size of a dish washer.

Just the same I would rather spend $12 for a good magnet you put inside the filter, or $34 for the "Filtermag" than try to save that amount since I am using this on a bike I have a few thousand $$$$$ invested in!
