I know that Doc likes them for performance!

The only thing that Otto's said bad about them is they complicate tuning. He tries to get the ultimate so he's adding and removing plates to try to get the optimum plate count as well as V/E ratios, timing and AFR.

That's been my experience as well. No one around me that I've found knows how to tune one. There are 20 disks to play with, each with open or closed end cap. Multiply that by the different jetting combos, and it can get really involved. The thing seems to make power though if you get it figured out.
I was able to come up with some pretty pleasing numbers for my build. Fate has determined that I get another build, and I'll be starting over just a bit, because I'm going to a little more cam.

Personally, I wish it had a little more sound, but that's just me. Running the open end cap helps, but it's still quieter than my V&H Big Shots were. The chrome seems to pretty high quality. I have just a little bit of trouble keeping the megaphone tight on the collector, but that's ok too, because I have to remove it to change rear tires. I have a Softail, so YMMV.

I'd love to find a tuner with a lot of Supertrapp experience and see what it can really do. I'm pretty confident I am close to max effeciency, but one never knows.

I'm running one and couldn't be happier. I like it for the reason Luke doesn't. It's quiet. If you want it to be. You can make it loud too. I run the open end cap.

Quality, fit and finish is on par with my V&H ProPipeHS, but that was LOUD, and you can't tune it as well.

Yes, you can get yourself into a mess with the disc's and jetting, but a good tuner knows how to set one up in a short amount of time.

I would have to agree with GG here. Even my indy agrees that it doesn't sound like a Jap bike(he thought it might)

Thanks fellas...

I just bought the TTS Mastertune which has a program called V-tune. Its gonna be great...
I bought it from Doc at HDMD in Fla. That guy is a FI wiz !
I'm lookin at the Supermeg or a Fat Cat w/ quiet baffle. I don't want something louder than the V&H Oval slip ons I have now. My only hesitation about the FatCat is the issue a few people have mention with burning themselves...and its not just Berserker!! I gotten that concern from peeps on other forums as well. I think it might be more emphasized on 07 and later models due to the rear header sticking out more ? Anyway this issue could also be the same on the Supertrapp...who knows.
Thanks for the input !
