Good news, they are releasing my Dad from the burn center from the hospital today. He will be spending the next month or two at the senior home near his house for some physical therapy and nurses care for his burns.
Not sure how long he will be there, at least he is close to his friends. That should help him recover quicker from his burns. Three weeks in a hospital bed has made him confused as to where he is and he hasn't gotten much exercise. The therapists will need to get him on his feet as soon as possible or I fear he will just give up on walking. The dementia will disappear as soon as he's around people he knows.
Thanks for the prayers and concerns from everyone, they are very appreciated.

Make sure you see what the p.t. schedule is...don't let them just do it once a day...
MF'n place where my Mom was just supposed to go for up to a couple months of P.T. left Her layin' the rest of the time...until it was too late...then She was forced to stay there...
and it didn't take them long to kill Her after that...once they get their $$$$, they're of no use to them...
it's a business...
Sorry, but that's the way they operate...
I really pray your Dad get's up & outa there fast...
Please keep up on everthing...Daily...
and don't sign anything

Excellent news polarbear. Just remember, the senior home CAN be as bad as
a hospital. Most PT lasts only about 1 hour per day. He needs as much
interaction as possible. Been there, done that.
Prayers from here for continued improvement, and as pain free a recovery
as possible.

Good news Kenny.... I agree with some of the others...Mom broke her arm bad... she stayed at a nursing home for about a week with promises of PT, it was ok but.......we moved her back into her own home and payed someone to stay with her 24/7 75 a day I think....she was much happier and within a week she was able to get around and take care of herself... after 2 weeks she was her ol cantankerous self (LOL) and we were able to let the help go. Familiar surroundings I believed help the healing process...

Latest update, Dad is recuperating pretty well at the care home. His burns are healing well, but the area they took skin from for the graft is still hurting him some. He is up and walking with the aid of a walker for now, he lost a lot of weight and is pretty week for not getting any exercise while everything healed.
He has slipped a bit with his memory but I think the medications he is on may be the culprit for this. Hopefully after he has healed and back on two feet, this will go away and we can get him back to his house. Time will tell.
Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts, we really appreciate it.
