View Full Version : Country Ham and Redeye Gravy

First, thanks, grandma.

Soak ham in cold water to remove salt.

Fry in cast iron skillet on medium heat, remove. From your coffee pot, add 1 to 2 cups of coffee. Using a wooden spoon mix drippings from ham with coffee.

Homemade biscuits are best, but get the ones from the frozen section if needed.

Add gravy to biscuits and ham, black pepper and you're now in southern cooking heaven.

Next week, squirrel brain gravy and biscuits. This one comes from granddad and uncle Keith.

It was squirrel brain with scrambled eggs and fried biscuits around Big Dads and Big Moms house.
