I need to change the exhaust on my touring bike. I want some slip-ons that are much better looking, but only slightly louder than stock. Any suggestions? I have an 2005 Ultra and I like hearing the radio.
The V&H Bigshot Staggered were WAY TOO LOUD for a touring bike. I liked them on my Heritage tho.

If your engine's stock, V&H Ovals are mellow. W/ duals, some comp, 95" and cams, they can get to be a bit of an earful, though...

a friend of mine has an '03 Ultra...sold his Reinharts, and put on the stock head pipes and SE 65115-98b's. rides with wife 99% of time...both are happier with the sound/noise level.
the SE 65115-98b were discontinued...but, there are still dealers out the that have them...and still selling them at 20% off.
If you can live without the Screamin' Eagle on the mufflers...Supertrapp SE's are the same...that's who was making them for HD.
I have the HD Touring mufflers w/billet end caps on mine...a little quieter than the SE's...and probably more restrictive.
there are a few sets of these on ebay...

I have some Cycle Shack slip ons with Rocket Tips that I changed out. I've modified the baffles for a little more sound. Willing to pay them forward to anyone interested, less shipping.

......I have some nice kerkers (basically SEs) with the Harley Double Groove endcaps on them......we could work something out. Fit a 2005 Road King, should be the same for you.

I'm new to the touring pipes. I had V&H Big Radius on my 05 Low Rider, but my wife has asked me not to get mufflers that are too loud for the 07 Road King. We want to get a dog carrier for the luggage rack, and take "Harley" with us. I love the look of the Rineharts true duals. Do they make them quieter? Can you make them quieter? What would you do, I don't want to piss the wife off, as she rides behind me...hehe.
