I'm replacing that generic gauge (no temp readings) with this one.
I also bought a smoker cover.

Good on Dave and Pam

Still working on it, the guy is supposed to be over sometime this week.

The smoker I found at WalMart (on sale for $30), and the new gauge was $7. The freezer was on sale for $150, it is a small (5 cu. Ft.) freezer, but the destructions state it will hold 150 lbs of frozen stuff. The be good enough for me.
I hope to be able to test the smoker out on Labor Day weekend and do up a butt roast or brisket.

oh yeah, Dave has one of those too, so I got a chance to check out the construction and get his opinion of it .... He's a fan of it for sure ....

BigToe suggested that I could research and consider the Primo Smoker as the competitor of the Egg

I'm gonna want a full report Mister ! I want to know how well you're able to put into practice all the stuff that Dave taught us this past weekend !!

I'm not as fast as you ..... I'd like to have a smoker by the holiday, and trying out the stuff that Dave taught me ... but it's not gonna happen that fast for me ..... :badmood: when it does come together for me ... I'll have pics and report .... might even have some quotes from guest that eat the BBQ :DD
