I no longer enjoy the obnoxious growl that is discharged from the rear of my bike, the oval duals have out worn their welcome. I would much rather be listening to George Jones or Keith Whitley on my awesome Hogtunes sound system. I think I need new slip ons, may the research begin, I'm thinking the new SE fat Shots for now until Google finds me something better.

I have S&S SPOs. If the size don't turn you off, they're great.

I had v&h classic slipons on the RK, nothing fancy, not to expensive, and not obnoxiously loud either....

I'd just like to inform you that I have awarded you guys a Medal of Valor for posting in the Ladies Area this morning. I started to pop off some smartass comment about the thread title and chickened out.
You are very courageous.:roflback:

Well, after Dave admitted he had a 2-pound penis, I felt I had nothing to lose.

S&S SPO's. This is the second bike I have put them on, and I love them. Not loud, quiet at cruise, throaty under acceleration. Because of their high volume, my tuner said they produced as much power on the dyno, as any of the best pipes he has seen. He was impressed and surprised. I wasn't.

I replaced the baffles in mine w/ the new style. Made them less obnoxious at 80 mph cruise, way easier to hear the radio, but still very Harleyesque.
I took a vow to leave my 08 100% stock. A decision I have not regretted.

Maybe just repacking the baffle wrap would help. I bet it has become "used up" for lack of a better term.

Cant, the V&H Ovals have a sealed baffle unit in them, kind of reminds me or an old mortar shell. Its like a muffler inside of a muffler, this I assume is why they are blueproof. I'm not sure what Im gonna do, the SS are expensive and I can get the fatshots from Jenni at 20%off, I was also looking at the SE touring mufflers, they are suppose to be quiet too. Need to research more.

Look into SuperTrapp slip on's. They're tunable with discs and the closed end cap makes them very neighborhood friendly. I love my SuperTrapp 2:1 Supermeg. Even with the open end cap on mine, at cruise speed it's a nice low mellow rumble.
See your other post for my response about the SE slipon's you're thinking about.

Well, That's a tough deal to beat, but I love my Bub 7's. Got them on both bikes. Loud enough when I wanna make some noise but settle down nicely on the highway. Lowest sound of any pipe I've heard without any of that higher pitch note that so many pipes have which is what gets so tiresome on longer rides. I have the slipons on the RK and True Duals W/crossover on the Ultra. Love them both and they sound better and better as they burn in.

Well its settled, the wife came home with a box from the local HD shop, they had a 25% off one day sale today and she knew what I was zooming in on, I got a box with a set of new SE (Supertrapp) Fat shots slip ons. Now I just need to convince her to let me at them before xmas. I will post up a ride report asap but initial observations(I snuk a peek) is they are first rate quality and sharp!

Thanks man, I really appriciate the offer, I was gonna e mail you tomorrow and take you up on it right up to the point my wife came home with the trapps, Thank you.

I will be doing that with my next bike, I may spring for the new Road glide for 2010, its sharp looking and Ole Red needs a Brother, it shall remain stock.

Stock sound is good for me right about now. The SE are rebranded supertrapps, the trapp endcaps and disc are interchangable.
Anybody need a set of ovals? Loud ones...
