When you are in the Edit Signature part of the user control panel you will see a couple of lines of buttons on top of the edit widow. On the second line, right after the B for bold, I for italics and U for underline you will see 3 buttons that, in order, will left justify, center or right justify the thing you are adding. I think I hit the Center button then put my cursor between the 2 center commands and then copied in the pics or icons or whatever they are.

It appears that you hit the "left justify" instead of "center". Keep experimenting.

Not smart so much, just experienced. I can't tell you how long it took me to learn how to do the sig stuff.
