Just got a PM and get the dreaded 404 message.
Seems to come up for me anytime I click an email link to the forum, whether it be a PM or subscribed thread update.

I hope it ain't one of those things on our end that we have to clear history and cookies,,,,I'm on days off and if the O/L catches me doing anything she will come up with a list of things to do! :(

I got the 404 as well. But u can go around it by going to the control panel and hitting list messges. Then open them up directly. Must be this DST thing again.

I have finished rewriting the scripts and this problem should now be gone.

If you click on the email link, notice if in the URL address it says "php(4)" as opposed to "php". If you change the "php(4)" to "php", it will take you to the correct thread. Again, I'm hoping that now I've fixed this problem and it was due to the original installation of the software, not the move to the new server. I changed the installation and the server at the same time so it may seem that it was due to the new server.

Let me know if you are still getting this error.

Thanks... your man under the hood...

WOW! This is freaking me out

When I clicked above link I also go to the message.
But when I go to my GMail account the same message I posted above renders this:

The webpage cannot be found
HTTP 404
Most likely causes:
There might be a typing error in the address.
If you clicked on a link, it may be out of date.

What you can try:
Retype the address.

Go back to the previous page.

Go to www.doofclenas.com and look for the information you want.

WTF was that???

Never got a warning like this before

This Account Has Exceeded Its CPU Quota

Please contact this site's webmaster.

Wait a few minutes and use your browser's "Back" button or click here to try again.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you are the webmaster, your account may have exceeded for one or more of the following reasons:
Your site has used more than 20% of the cpu.
Your account has too many processes running at the same time.
Your site was consuming too many resources. This happens on occassion to very busy sites that have inefficient scripts running.

Harley jsb... are you kidding or are you saying that you aren't linking back to the PM linked in your email?

For now, you can click on the links that come in your email and then change the "php(4)" in the URL address to "php". Then hit enter and you should go to the appropriate page.

I don't know why this is happening, but I'll look into it this week and see if I can figure it out.

What worked for me:

At the top of the page, click on the link "Private Messages"
When you go to the error page, the address bar will have this:

http://www.doofclenas.com/forums/private.php(4)

Just change it to this (drop the 4):

http://www.doofclenas.com/forums/private.php

Works for me, anyway......:D

8-ball did you change the database back to php from php(4)?

8-ball did you change the database back to php from php(4)?

I changed all the scripts, but I think I have to do some sql queries to correct the database... time to pay for some phone support. It looks like these links are being generated from the scripts, but not from the ones I changed... and I can't get to them through the script templates.
