Just installed the Harley Flush gas cap and gauge on my Heritage yesterday.

VERY easy to install. I did not remove battery cables or slid gas tank back like they suggested.
Just reached up unhooked connector and pulled it down. Used a pick to pull out the pins and then pulled off old gauge.

Slid wires from new gauge down hole. inserted pins in the connector and refastened. I really liked the way the gauge is installed, pretty cool. Still need to install trim ring on filler side. Got to get me some silicone because I'm not using the double sided tape thats on it.

Only thing left is braided cables.

The center of the gauge pops up when you push down on it to access 4 screws that pull it tight to tank.

Watch the rings. If one comes loose take it off at that time. It can and will fly off under power. Even with the silicone it might not be enough. They do make some bikes look better.

I have a nice trim ring that I got from Wild1 for my speedometer. Siliconed that baby on 6 months ago and its on pretty good. Your's wasn't the only experience Ive read with the double sided tape failing. I've read its contributed to people spilling a little gas on a refill.. That would make sense
