Great ride from Tahachapi into Bakersfield though... one of my favs!!!

No issues at all. I just couldn't bring myself to wussing out on the 143 road near work. Time was the only issue with having the little guys.

You guys should have been there to see the look on the CHP officer's face as he drove by. I thought for sure he was going to stop and get the lowdown.

I also learned something new about the California desert. While we have dust here in Arizona, you guys have true sand. Riding thru a dust devil here in Phx is kind of annoying. In Cali it's just flat out painful. Thanks for the advice on Tehachapi, that's the prettiest non-coastal area of CA I've been thru.

Another recommendation for riding is highway 247 from Barstow to 29 Palms. If you're heading to/from Palm Springs this is an out of the way route. Lots of mountains, curves and just enjoyable riding.
