I received the new HD accessories catalog yesterday and seen they have what appeared to be mounting accessories to make the tourpak removable. Has anyone else seen this, and is it for that purpose or did I misread the description?

Wouldn't mind the ability to remove the trunk for around town riding.

..it's been available quite some time for the standard/chopped box. Is this something for the new type box on the SE models?

It says it's new, but doesn't say if it will work with SE Ultra.

Hey Gordito, i think the only problem with making you detacheble is that big amp you got under the tourpark. I have done it before, it a lot of work and not a bolt right on thing. I know i saw a thread somewhere, and when i find ill post it up....

Thanks TX.
I've removed the amp and have the Hawg Wired sound system installed. So for me, that wouldn't be an issue. What I think would, is the fact that I have the leather covered pak and not the standard fiberglass one.

I'll check w/HD.

Worse case scenario, I buy me a Street Glide.

Should not be an issue with the leather TourPak if the existing bracket is the same as for a rigid TourPak. You can check the parts book to see if the bracket is the same and if so you should be good to go. I think the kit is listed as new because it now includes everything need to do he job. Before you had to buy the docking hardware separate and the antenna kit separate and a few other thing to make it all work together. Now it is all in one kit to make it easier.

.......LittleBear is correct if the mount point are the same. Also, the old unit used to say it didn't fit the Ultra, but that's not the case. I run a detach, think they say that because of the additional wiring. Maybe they forgot who own these things......

Thanks for the info guys. I'll definitely check it out.

So far, the wife's not on board with a new Street Glide in the garage.

Go figure...
