Anybody know who makes the windshields for FHLT's with the recurve at the top? Read reviews of them over at V-Twin a long time ago cant find it now. Have Fast-Aire bookmarked but on their web sight they dont look very "curved" at the top so thinking that they're not the ones I saw reviewed at v-twin... not sure.
thought the ones I remember from the review had a more curved top lip profile than this:

I just bought a new Memphis Shades shield, gradient black at the bottom. They're about 1/16" thicker thjan the HD shield.
~~~~~~~~~
$72.00 for the 9.5" Clearview Shield, not too bad.
yea I was noticing that, they have a 9" black with recurve blem with blem on the inside where it would be behind a windshield bag for $54 I think it was... debating jumping on that one.
You pay as much attention to windshields as you do road signs Mr Lewis and Clark.:Poke:
Remember the windshield on the blue ultra you cleaned on our CC run?:whistling:
It is the windshield of which you are speaking.:roflback: :roflback:
I am on the road right now but it is the clearview 9.5 inch with recurve---I think that is the correct height.:pirate_doh:
apparently I do, I never noticed the recurve. I was thinking it looked awfully short to be doing much good, should have thought about it being a recurve. So are you happy with it at 9.5"?
thanks, I owe it all to ocho balls for inspiration... I liked his so much I kept plugging away with photoshop learning to work with layers. Not so hard once you figure it out. Far from done, still have some stuff to add just from the CC trip alone. :)
...now maybe we can find out about the winshield. Are you happy with the height? Is the passenger happy about the height, amount of turbulence or lack thereof?
Both the passenger and I love the shield. It is a 9 1/2 inch with recurve and gives protection every bit as good as the stock 12 inch. I can see over the top quite nicely. I am 6 ft and have a Corbin seat. Mrs 9"s said she could not tell any difference in wind protection either.
While I normally wear a helmet while traveling I tested the wind deflection wearing a baseball cap after installation. The cap stayed on at 70 mph with the bill facing forward in normal fashion. I could just barely feel the top of the cap moving on the top of my bald head but the wind did not catch the cap bill. I have ridden with my denim Robo cap on many times and it never moves.
Two friends rode the bike with the new shield and ordered one the next day. One got the clear like mine and the other ordered the smoked tinted version.
Both agree the shield is the cats meow.
I highly recommend the product.(it has been on the bike for over a year now)
Now with that said there are a few other things I have bought that are just junk.:roflback:
Just for the record I also have a friend that rides a Road King that ordered a recurve for it as well. He indicated he was more than pleased. He is only about 5' 7" and I don't know what size he ordered. I do know he called and talked with the company and they helped him select the height.
I've had the 8" recurve on for a year...i'm about 5'10"...i wear a carbon fiber helmet - no problem.
the 1/2 helmets w/visors catch a little wind...the HJC is OK, but the Shoei doesn't have any space between the visor & helmet & catches enough wind to disturb my vision at highway speeds.
I had cut a winshield down to 9" & it was OK...so that's what my next one will be...
Maybe now, but I was watching her face then and she didn't seem to mind it even a little bit.
After 42 years with me she has grown accustomed to public humiliation.:thumbsup: :pirate_whistle:
She is a good sport and a :pirate_treasure:
Don't even want to think what or where I might be had she not taken on the task of raising me.:roflback:
