MD-43 Prospect and Reunion Ride & Roundup

OK, all you Prospects, Doofs, Delinquents and Double D's, it's time for a MD Rt 43 Ride and Reunion Round-Up. That means all you ne're-do-wells from Eastern PA, NY, NJ, MD, DE and VA need to listen up. Thinking sometime in April or May for this Roundup and need to start getting some dates etc.

I know some prefer a weekday (I promised GeezerGlide so he wouldn't whine anymore) if it can be done.

Also, davukmer, I'm counting on you to figure out how to get enough BBQ and sauce packed on the back of that FatBoy for a nice picnic.

If we do this right, it could be the biggest gathering of Doofs yet so start throwing out some dates that'll work for you.

During that process I also need to replace the outer primary cover, which means I have to remove the linkage and stuff for the shifter. Since I ain't got a garage (and the OL won't let me work on the bike in the living room), I have to wait for the weather to be decent enough for me to work on it outside. I'm going to also do a thorough bench test of the voltage regulator-I've go a nagging feeling that it needs to be replaced. Plus the forever growing, never shrinking 'Honey-Do' list.

Since any riding I do (until the OL decides she when she wants to get a sitter) involves me leaving her home alone with a 3-y.o. and a 6-month old, that means knocking off items on the 'honey-do' list. OL math is not like normal math. One item off the list is not equal to TimmyD getting one day of riding. It's more like a 10:1 ratio, which also equals the OL compression/angry ratio IF I go riding without doing any honey-dos.

Disregard what the tire says unless you know for sure that the spoked rims are either aftermarket tubeless or have been converted to tubeless (lotta work there)...your tires aren't likely the stockers either and most tires today are rated for tube/tubeless use these days. That's why a Fatboy can run the same Dunflop as a Deluxe...I'm 99% certain you got tubes...

Looks like Friday the 27th and Saturday the 28th are the days. Tentative meeting place is same as Oct. 43rd ride, IKEA at Whitemarsh Mall. It's a pretty easy place to find and just around the corner from the final destination. I'll leave it to MD and VA groups if they want to do a meet-up somewhere else and then ride to IKEA together. As for PA and NJ, a meet-up at Mike's Famous and then ride to IKEA worked well last time, would suggest we go for it again. How does a 10:00 a.m. meet at IKEA work for Fri. and/or Sat.?

Rt 7 is very close to ikea. Like 1/2-1 mile.

There is The Hammerman Area of Gunpowder State park which isn't to far.
Hammerman -- From I-95 take exit 67A for Route 43 east (White Marsh Boulevard). Follow 43 to route 40 east. Turn right at the first light onto Ebenezer Road and follow it for 4.5 miles. The park entrance will be on your left.

The Hammerman Area offers 1,500 feet of beach and swimming area on the banks of the Gunpowder River. The swimming area is supervised by lifeguards from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The area also has a food concession, picnic tables and grills, playground equipment and a windsurfing beach. Ultimate Watersports rents kayaks, wind surfboards and catamarans at the beach. Most state parks don't man the booth until after Memeorial Day.

Only down side is that it is a state park so they charge 3$ a person for day use. This is the closest park to 43 that I can think of. But If this is a problem I could probably find something else that is probably free. Not sure what your looking for. If its a place to just stop and snack and bullshit a little then maybe 3$ a person is a little steep.
