I did a job in West Haven about 10 years ago(3M). I flew in late so I was scrambling for a hotel I stayed at the Yankee Inn. That was one of the worst hotels I have ever been in. (US anyway). The guys at the plant had a good laugh when I told them were I stayed.

LOL! You didnt notice they rent rooms buy the hour did you? Dont ask how I know that. Its an econlodge now but still the same scummy place. If your ever back in the area, thier building a higher end Hotel (not sure which one) up the road, and its next to a Texas Roadhouse- good food.

Hey Guys, Colorado is out of the question for me cause that is a busy weekend and work and too far.

How about a Local DooF Ride?

Even A Marcus Dairy Breakfast.

THEBEAR
02-19-2007, 09:34 PM
Id be up for that. Currently my bike has no front end (replacing with chome, I might be addicted to chrome) so maybe when the roads and weather improve.

You got it.

I rode today, around the block to charge the battery and to give the bike some love. My lips were getting tired from going Verooom Verooom in the garage.

My schedule gets jammed in the summer but...I would like to put together some rides...perhaps Mt Washington by riding rout seven up.

Guys, this past Saturday was great - put a few hundred miles on cause I COULD!

Anyway, there are a few Long Islanders on board who's like to take a trip up to the Dairy. I myself have never been there. I am thinking of an overnighter -leave LI Sat morning, take the ferry, do the Sub museum as was suggested, crash overnight in some dive, and do the Dairy on Sunday. I'm guessing you guys could recommend a scenic loop and hotel? Put your thinking caps on, cause summer's almost here.

Then maybe you guys could come down to the Island, (or city? and do Ground Zero, and work our way out to the east end of the Island?

Popeye.......my bad. I just saw this first post.

You have a great idea here! The New London / Mystic area is great for a summer blast. The Steak Loft is still there, and the Aquarium , as well as Mystic Seaport.

Lots of camping areas, and motel/hotels.

Yep, runs down the east side of Cornwall, CT and there is a rout 7 just to the west of Cornwall. This looks like a "must do". Google says 197 mi. and just under 4 hours from me. Need to get a new rear tire on for this.

OK, now this is starting to to look like a humdinger. Question is, do we ride across the Tapanzee into CT from this end or go over the Verrazano to L.I., pick up the Daves and take the ferry across to meet up with Popeye and The Bear...
