On a seat mod by Meancitycycles.com. Should be back next week. Of course, it was 67F and sunny here today....

What mods to your seat are you having done?

Looks like some reasonable prices there with a quick turn around time.

You will have to post up pics and feedback on how it turned out.

I went with the memory foam, rework of the tailbone area and stiffening of the edges. Will let you all know how it turns out.

Workmanship looks good, felt pretty good, but I don't have any extended time on it yet. I've only had a chance to sit on it in the garage, as I'm on the short leash for mobility this month--have to keep a ton of crap with me everywhere I go.

I should be able to get some time on it this weekend or next week. I'll post back once I have some hours on it and let you know.

I sent mine off for basically the same mods. It should be here next week I think just in time for the 80's we'll be having here. I also had the seat position adjusted. I'll let post up my results as soon as I get them.

Well, finally got some time on the seat. It is light years better than stock, but it didn't come back a Corbin or Mustang or Russel. It is softer than I expected (my 225lb ass may be an issue here), but way more resilient than the stock foam. I have not had a recurrence of the tail bone hot-spot, which was my major complaint in stock trim.

I have to get a few solid back-to-back-to-back tank-fulls on it before I really decide how it rates for long-term comfort. Regardless, Mean City's workmanship and business practices are outstanding.

Well, I got to put 500+ on it today. I like it. There is no tailbone hot spot at all.

The only downside I can think of is that the foam in the perineum area is a bit hard and if I sit in a certain position, it feels like someone took a big rubber band and hooked it around the boys and then around my neck--needless to say, I don't sit that way.

Any up close pics?

Of the seat, not the boys...

Just sayin'...

Nope, but I can do some later. I'm off to the Emerald Coast Bike Fest in a couple minutee.

Sent mine off about 2 weeks ago, said turn around was 2-3 weeks then. Cant wait... hated the stock seat. As long as mine gets back in time for ROT Rally I'll be happy. Glad to hear yours is better... wasn't expecting perfection, just hoping for better than stock and sounds like I wont be disappointed.

It seems to be getting better the more I ride it. I've heard Corbins do this, but I was not expecting it to happen with this mod. Like I said way up-thread, the workmanship is also first class. I can't complain at all.

I do a lot less now that I'm living back in a neighborhood and I can't just go shoot in my back yard.

Well, a nearly 4K-mile trip to Doofapalooza '07 was the undoing of the foam in the seat. It is completely collapsed and now I can feel the plastic base rubbing along my legs.
