I was asked the difference in Cop bikes. I have an 04, I think that this goes to 06.
The only difference I have seen in 05-06 have the option of ABS brakes.
Police motorcycles have a different flash and do not come with cat mufflers. The air box has holes in it, it is a different part number. It has a special speedo that can be calibrated. The different flash is so they can idle longer without overheating. The perforated air box is not quite SE but much better than stock. The muffs are faster flowing than the cat muffs. The clutch has 1 extra disc, and the basket is different. They come without rear pegs, and have "run flat" tires that have a solo weight rating. The basic wiring follows the same codes, but all the rest is different. The wiring diagrams show the same colors for the main harness, but the other wires are totally different than the ultra w/ everything. The buttons on the hand controls are different, there is a clutch lever interlock, you can not start unless the clutch is in. The stator is bigger, the passing lights had to be wired in special, since that is for one red and one blue. The seat is different, the luggage rack is like the old ones on the EGs. The footbrake pad is bigger. I have 2 lights with my license plate, they are wired as extra running/brake lights, they used to be blue. The fuse box is much bigger and different, the headlight is set up for strobe. It has special tach that has idiot lights for pursuit. The windshield is taller than stock. There are extra wire harnesses for hooking up pa, siren, police radio, strobe system on the back. Some of the bulbs have different numbers, maybe they are brighter?
