Welcome George.
Does Amsoil have any plans that you know of for a straight 60wt in the MC oil. I'm pretty sure that I can run the 2000 series racing oil in 60wt.
I switch over to straight 60 for the summer.

I'm paying like $9.50 a quart for Amsoil oil and gear lube locally. Is it any cheaper to get from Steve ?

Buying from George, by the case, gets the price down.
The guy called me from Alaska while on vacation to answer a question about frikkin' oil... I run all Amsoil... thanks, George,
Mike

I thank all of you for the nice welcome. Members of this forum will get wholesale prices from me shipped to you from our closest warehouse. Call me for details on how to get this pricing. Many of you already know this, but we may have some new riders that are not familiar with my services or even Amsoil for that matter. I certainly appreciate your business and any referrals that you may send my way.

Welcome, George!
I'll be hitting you up for a case this spring.
Do you know anything about the 75w110 I've heard mentioned?
Might be a good thread if they've released anything meaningful.
Thanks,

That's a damn fine deal!
Im gonna give Amsoil a go.
George, i'm on the other side of the planet, but i've located a rep in my town, what do you recommend for all the fluid changes ie primary, tranny and engine, and what filter pt# for an Evo FXDWG?
Thanks.
If i were over yonder, i would be dealing with you, no doubt about it.

Thanks for your nice thoughts. What year bike is your's? I am not sure you can get the oil or air filters yet in your country. The 20w 50 should work good for you pretty much year round. You can use the 75w 90 gearlube or even Amsoil's new 75w 110 weight for the tranny. I have used the 20w 50 in all three holes and sent the oil off to a lab for testing so if you would rather use just one lube for all 3 holes then rest assured that you are not sacrificing wear protection for the convienience of using one lube.

If they do have the filters your bike most liklely will take the EAOM-135. There is a few older EVO's that take a different one. Where have you been purchasing the Amsoil from?

There is a rep in Talem Bend, and he makes a run to his distributors once a week here in Adelaide. He said to let him know what oil i require and he'll give me a call and let me know which distributor to buy it from or he'll hook me up.
This will be my first go at Amsoil.
I'm not really anal about oils, i use synthetic now, so i figured i'll give it a try.
My bike is a 94 fxdwg.

The Amsoil straight 60 weight oil meets JASO MB motorcycle specs and certainly can be used in a Harley engine. Matter of fact it is in my bike right now. I plan to go back to the 20w 50 at next oil change though, as it being a thicker oil, does present a small amount of fluid drag to the engine.

George, Any thoughts on the 75x110 helping with the noise in 5th and 6th on the new stock 6-speed?

DNM....have you changed your tranny fluid yet? I went with Amsoil 75-90 gear oil at my 1K service. I believe the combo of the fluid change and getting some miles on the bike (and attribute a little to pipes) has made my 5th gear (previously fairly whiney) as quiet as the rest. I never had any 6th gear whine.

Amsoil does not make the oil filter for your bike. I assume it is a non US model. The stock number for the oil you need is MCV 20w 50. They may have some of the older AMV 20w 50 still in stock. If so feel comfotable about using it as it was a great product before Amsoil reformulated the newest version a few years ago.

Sorry I took so long to answer this as it got by me. I don't think that there would be a noise reduction for that tranny just by going to a little thicker gearlube, but you can try if you like and report back.

Another thumbs up for George and AMSOIL. I just recently got a case from them. UPS guy dropped the box when he delivered it causing a couple of bottles to leak. He replaced them.

Called George Monday afternoon to order the same. He happened to be on vacation so I apologized, told him I was in no hurry and that I'd give him a call later. He was gracious enough to take my order anyway. Got an email from him the next morning indicating a Friday delivery. My order was at my door last night. Thanks George!!

Thanks for all the comments, but all I try to do is give the service I would like and expect from any manufacture or sales rep. I have to give a lot of credit to the staff at Amsoil from the order takers to the warehouse folks as no matter how good the products or service is, if they don't do their part we wouln't be receiving these comments. Again thanks for all your past and future business.
