Front Fender Replacment

So my front fender got scratched by my uncle. John Deer Green right down to the metal. He bought me a new fender and I have it (Genuine H-D replacment). Any tips or pointers for doing this myself without scratching and scraping it up changing it out?

(Anyone want to buy a scratched (not dented) fender for an 05 Ultra?)

You gotta drop the front wheel. No other way to get to the fender bolts. Follow the directions in the service manual ( you DO have one, right?) and you'll be fine. Do not....repeat...... DO NOT forget to undo the fendertip wire from under the fairing FIRST!! (Oh, and don't ask me why I'm telling you this, OK?)

It is always the 1st accessory I get. Comes home same day as the bike.
