The Colorado Kid

By Stephen King, over $100.00 ? What the heck...

limited publishing I guess.

I wouldn't pay $100 for a Stephen King book if it was printed on gold-plated velum.

I agree. In fact, I would never have seen the green mile and liked it if I had known it was based on King's book.

Those books were written and release as a serial. I waited by the paperback book rack each month to get the new edition.

Stephen King is a great author but went really weird somewhere along the line. I still say Pet Cemetary is one of his greatest works! That book scared the living daylights out of me but I couldn't quit turning the pages!

Everything went downhill after 'Salem's Lot which creeped holy hell out me, but I forgave King a lot for the narrative he wrote to Nightmares in the Sky, a photo book of gargoyles and grotesques in New York City architecture (photos by F. Stop Fitzgerald). King is also a fan of the worst sci fi B movie ever made: Gargoyles. It was terrible- I loved it. So did King. I think we may be the only two people who even remember the thing.

However, he also wrote some of the worst books ever written, Christine being pretty near the top of the list based on inane plot and verbal repetition. The sheer unadulterated tedium was relieved only by the excruciatingly trite turn of phrase.

I still wouldn't pay $100 for a SK novel unless I could flip it and make a couple thousand back.
