Just Say No to Carpet......

Stay out of the gutter ya Doofs & Zints.... :DD

As we finish our carpet purge the last three holdouts are the bedrooms upstairs. No more kids at home so no problem....

Our MB is an addition that is 25-27yrs old. We aren't in the house shoe wearing people but do work on our property outside and have had the home for 20yrs. Auto wasn't initially on board with tearing out all the carpet but after I lifted the first corner she is a absolute advocate of tile & plank flooring.

This is the entry to the master bedroom .....

Think of the small % that filters thru the carpet and underlay and what is actually still contained in the carpet.

I tore all the carpet out years ago. I was able to refinish some hardwood floors in a couple of rooms and put laminate wood flooring down in others. I put tile in the bathroom and laundry room.

A cold floor isn't much of a problem here with our winters, but a judicious use of some strategic throw rugs is warranted.

Impressive level of yuck, Dirk.

The good thing about the carpet that was once in our house is that it preserved the hardwood floors until we could move in and rip the shag stuff out. We have horses, dogs, and cats and when we first moved in, we had kids at home as well. Carpet was not an option we considered for five minutes. I'm not even too enamored of rugs except the dirt catchers at each door. Hardwood floors are remarkably warm, even in a Wyoming winter.
