Well, I did it again
No, I didn't buy a new bike, gun, golf clubs or RV.
I submitted my resignation today effective Jun 21st. Just so happens it's the week before Smoke Hole. :roflback::whistling:
I've been working for a consulting and engineering firm the last 9 years. 5 years ago, I was promoted to Manager, but spend the majority of my time running projects as lead inspector, not a manager.
The last 3 years, I've been mostly working out of the Virginia Department of Transportation construction office in Charlottesville. About 7 weeks ago, I was turning in the last of our project files as our contract was expiring. During my visit, I was informed of a vacant full time VDOT position that was being advertised. I was also strongly encouraged to apply. :Poke:
Long story short, I submitted my application by the deadline, was selected as a finalist, completed the interview process and last night was officially offered the position. Yes, I signed the acceptance letter.
Soooo, on July 25th, I'll be starting my next career as a Construction Manger for the Virginia Department of Transportation in the same office I've been working out of since early 2015. :woohoo:
