Gotta Crack
07 RK, I changed the clutch cable a while back but did not change the exhaust gaskets and thought is was a leaky gasket, pulled the heat shields off and their it was maybe 2" long crack on top of the Y pipe, Question is has anyone had luck welding it up?
Thanks |
It can be done, but the stock pipes are usually pretty easy to find on Craigslist, etc.

Just remember the pipe changed a bit from 06-07. That said I made a 07 2-1 header work on a 02. |
Well, I ain't got one nohow.

Got an '11 header I can get at, maybe (?) an '06 buried somewhere.
Would have to do an archaeological dig. |

I stand corrected then, but I thought something changed at the starter bracket connection and the transmission connection. |

Appreciate all the suggestions, I was rootin around on the web and found a fullsac conversion kit that will eliminate the Y pipe all together for $190 bucks, might just go that route and not worry about it again.

Morning all, Just a little update, took the y pipe over to Eddies and had it tig welded for 20 bucks put is all back together and damn if it doesn't sound halfway normal now. Now if I can get this cast off my hand I can get some miles in before it gets to hot.
