THE Worlds Fastest Indian

At the Indian Motorcycles booth they had this on display. It's not the one fabricated just for the movie but is the actual bike Burt Munro used to set the class 'Land Speed Record' at Bonneville in 1967 (183.586 mph) that still stands today. While it is the the original running chasis and stremline fairing, the original engine remains in New Zealand. The engine now in the bike is one that he used for experimenting and trials. The really exciting point was when they fired it up.....
note: chitty cell phone pic is not real accurate, actual color is dark red |

Even MORE impressive was when we all were on the other side of the Javitz center, and it being extremely crowded, and that thing just ROARED!! The whole crowd got quiet for a minute.
Did I say LOUD?? No, it was frikin' LOUD!!!! |
What no audio :Poke:I thought the story of how he took parts from car engines to make his own pistons was genius in its self but to see the bike in life would be a topper to life , thanks for sharing with us

Found this video that was recorded when I saw the bike started on Saturday. Seems to be a bit better sound quality than the one above from Friday's show.
