most comfortable touring seat

I spend the bucks on a the big couch that Mustang offers for my bike and I can only get about 100-150 miles before monkey ass starts bothering me. Even after a break I'm good for another 50-80 miles before I need another break.

There has GOT to be something that will let me get more miles than that before my ass starts aching.

HELP!

Corbin.

I've got a Road Zeppelin on the Ultra. It was on there when I bought it and it's kinda huge but Ohhhhh is it ever comfy.

BenBoosted 04-11-2011 10:50 AM

The last I checked into the Road Zep seat is that it was for 07 and up only. I've got an 05.

As for the Corbin, the only issue I have with that is that I'm 99% sure it means I'll have to spring for a new riders back rest as my existing back rest (spring between 2 squeeze handles) won't fit through the backrest opening in the Corbin seats. Am I right?

BigTOE 04-11-2011 10:53 AM

Mine's an '05.

Have you tried boxers? The seam in briefs can cause pressure points that reduce gluteal maximal endurance.

Geezer-Glide 04-11-2011 11:22 AM

Corbin is good, and I really liked my Mustang on my 98 RoadKing. Currently I'm using Harley's Sundowner. No matter what seat I try though, I'm only good for a tank's worth, about 175-ish.

Maybe you're just old.

I old, my ass is the problem, and I wear boxers. :)

I just get tired of that aching numbing butt bone sensation after an hour and a half of riding.

I had a friend recommend me an Airhawk seat pad and another recommended a sheep skin seat cover. If only there was some way to try all of these things out for 200 miles and see which one my ass likes the best.

That would be nice for both seats and helmets! I have the same problem. What works for 5 minutes isn't usually as comfortable after 5 hours.... or even 1 hour.

Whatever you decide on, get a leather seat. Vinyl doesn't breathe and contributes to monkey butt. I wear Under Armour boxer briefs. They wick moisture away, and the seams are a non-issue.

The Corbin backrest is different than the Harley one, they're incompatible.

Dont get a Tallboy seat...

If I could get the Road Zepplen in heated mode I would jump on it.

I have the Corbin Dual tourer on my RK ,I go a tankful, stop fill up and go again,6-800 miles easy,My Dyna has the Mustang Tourer and it's good also for 6-800 mils, the difference is the Mustang seams wider at the ft center and spreads my legs wider (don't get no ideas boys).
