EZ Brake install...
Wasn't easy. Or completed. My clevis pin is frozen in place.
Anyone have similar experience and if so, how did you get it out?? |
CaptainLee was a lot of help to Al with a how to question yesterday, maybe he'll drop by and offer a few suggestions later.
my only suggestion is a bigger hammer. |
I used a set of dykes (shaddup) to kind of pinch or lever it out.
|
We whacked it with a screwdriver and a hammer best we could... hard to get to on an Ultra with all that shlt everywhere...
It didn't budge... |
Did you try a drift punch?
|
Come up on it from underneath. If you can get a set of dykes on it, kinda pinch and lever it out. It was a real PIA when I did mine, but thats how I got it.

He isn't very flexible from what I've seen... if it occurs down low, he'll never notice... |

it will definitely need a pair of vise grips... I stuck a nail and a steel rod in the cotter pin hole and bent both of them... not turning... |
It won't turn. It actually "swedges" in there. It's not a loose fit. You have to get on the head of the clevis pin and pry. Thats why I suggested the dykes. When you bite down on the pin, the dykes act like a wedge, pulling it up a bit. Then you have to lever it out.
