Thumbs Up for American Elite

The first AE that I put on the rear of the ultra was right after the Red Lodge trip, and it went 10,800 then was replaced at MV '15 with the second AE and it has now hit the wear bars at 12,800. YMWV, and others get more, but considering my abusive treatment I'm quite happy with their life.... And they've been providing about as much grip as I can use, so, I'm happy.

I'm running an AE on the front of the 'b, a regular E3 out back.

The front AE is a lot less rumbly than the E3 it replaced. It handles just as well, if not better, than the E3.

An AE will go on the back of the 'b' when it's due for a new rear tyre.

I went to AEs right before ES. I'm just waiting to see mileage.

I was very happy with mine (AE's) on the '11, it would get 12 K unlike the stock ones that are done at 10 - 11 K miles...

Tried an E3 in MT90 size on the rear. Only got 6k out of it. Trying an AE MU85 now, hope it gets better mileage.

My CC came with the dual compunded E3. Just replaced it a few weeks back at 17,500. Would it have passed inspection, no. However it still have measurable tread all the way to the end of the original tread pattern. Replaced it with another with no hesitation.

2/32 left after 6500 miles.

Barely better than the D402s.

Can you get a MU85 on there. I understand that could add up to 40% more life over the MT90.

I used the spacer made by pingle to get a MU85 on the EG

MU85 is the stock tire I used on the 05 before going to the E3.

I've been looking for a deal on the rear AE and have found that *every* online retailer has them for exactly 206.79 so it doesn't appear to matter where I buy so I'll just hit up Zilla I guess.
(MS;DK;JP,BB,MoSpt,RMtn;Amazon;). If anyone knows of a another place with a deal, lemme know. I'm also going to order Those FoBo tee valve stems

Got the rear tire installed along with the tee valve stem. Went back to HD to get my previously attempted state inspection done. NOW, they say that the front tire won't pass! It IS worn, so I'll get one this week. American Elite gen II, of course. According to
my records, this front has 22000 miles. Time to renew, I'm afraid.

BTW, if you're wondering what "gen II" means and how to know which you have: the tires don't say Gen II but they have a logo in a square with "MT" which means multi tread, which means, yeah, it's a Gen II.

Gee, I can ride mine to the cord, here in the nanny state, and to the rubber layer under it. But now they are passing a bill to reduce cow farts...
