Front Door Project... We have a security problem...
 

I'm moving to NC... so I need to figure out some way to make the front door look good without spending money...

Basically, it is a flat, solid core masonite door with streamline (cheap assed 1.5") casing...

Had to shim and block the jamb... stupid builder... how hard is it to plumb a jamb really... Plane the door to conform to the jamb...

Decided to V-groove the door and paint it... took an hour to get all the frikkin' Christmas card tape off the door... Apparently, Mary didn't want ANY of them ever to fall off during the Yule season...:badmood:

Decided to make all new casing due to the jambs not being flush with the drywall and to spice it up a bit... actually had to rabbet all the casing to make it work... PIA!!!

Got it all up and primed...

Damn... Mary already has the front door opening secure with a black sheet, chairs to make noise in case someone tries to get in and Rup taped to the chair for that extra measure... I'll take pics of the casing tomorrow...

Now she is stringing cans around...

I'll finish painting the door, jambs and casing tomorrow... hopefully hang the door tomorrow night...

Just keep the dog right there next to it!

Put some peel and stick skulls or flames on the door to improve the curb appeal. :Smart:
