A 'New Sheriff' in town?
The new Indian Challenger looks "veddy interesting". Cycle World did the linked ride review (specification details included) that makes it appear very worthy of a look-see if NBF strikes. Cycle World Ride Review

Interesting, but looks too much like a RG.
Don't care for that big tank symbol much, or the fender trim/light. |
I may have to go take a test ride. They have a demo day coming up in a couple of weeks

looks like a cross between a RG and a GW....plastic fantastic

I've reached a point in my riding where looks come in third behind long distance comfort/rideability and power/technical.

Over $33k for a bike that's going to lose half its value the second you sign the paperwork.
Love the specs, and it looks decent, but hard pass. |
$33k?
"The Indian Challenger comes in three variants, the Challenger, Challenger Dark Horse and Challenger Limited, with base prices of $21,999, $27,499 and $27,999" Yeah, I didn't feel like typing the BBCode into talkatalk, so it's not a real quote but I spent all the time I saved typing this incredibly long run on sentence. At $22K it looks like a bargain. At $28K it looks like a road glide. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |
Personally, I have zero faith in the staying power or dedication of the Polaris group. I worry that they might just decide willy-nilly to fold up Indian's teepee and concentrate on UTVs and snowmobiles. It's almost like I saw it in a dream....like a Vision, or something.

I rode an Indian a couple years ago and wasn’t impressed with the fork rake angle. It turns in quick but not necessary on a touring machine. The lower center of gravity was impressive compared to the Electroglide. I just returned to HD and never gave Indian a pre purchase thought :whistling:

Look up the price of accessories for the Challenger.
Man, Indian is sure proud of their doo-dads........ |
Polaris is proud of all their factory after-market, whether it's their off-roads, Victories, Indians or their Slingshots.
Kinda like another bike company I'm familiar with. :SD2 |

Given the dirty way they played Victory and their owners, no way in hell I'd give Polaris that kind of money. |
