That's impressive.
Hey. I just said that he had an impressive organ. That's not what I meant. I can't speak to that but he made an impressive bed from his ....... uh, somebody's organ. |
He is impressive in all ways. :)
|
That may just be the coolest bed I've ever seen.

So many thoughts, so many things to say ...
That is quite nice. |
The woman for whom he built the bed bought the organ when the Presbyterian Church replaced it. She learned to play on this organ and played on it as church organist until it was decommissioned. The pedals are on the footboard; she says she wiggles down the mattress in her sleep and wakes up in the morning with her feet pressed against the pedals.

That is very very beautiful. Do you know how old the organ is/was?
|
This is one huge softball!
I sure all three of you have loads of fun with the innuendoes this is about. |

Hey, what's life without some good innuendo? :boobies::bum:
The organ was installed in 1949 and was (as far as I know) new at that time. Bev (the owner) and Roy (the furniture maker) were both born the same year which I think is sorta cool. It was replaced in 2002. Bev rescued it from a trip to the dump and kept it in her basement until Roy dragged it out piece by piece this year. Attachment 58000 |
That is an excellent example of skill and craftsmanship.

Ginya posted exactly what I was about to say:
Wow! very unique!! |
So......what your saying here is....
When you ask your friends to "come up to my bedroom so I can show you my organ".... You mean your bed. |
Oh, it's much worse than that; he is a recovering geologist. You know: tries avoid drawing maps and looking at core samples one day at a time. He's got this rock and mineral collection that he enjoys sharing with friends who are interested in the same. Imagine, if you will, a departing friend who has been treated to an impromptu lecture on lapidary. As she gets in her car she yells, "Tell your husband he has great rocks," and drives away leaving the guy across the street speechless... and perhaps somewhat envious?
True story. Not only does the man have great rocks but he knows what to do with wood. |
