The Art of Speed

The Corpus Christi Art Center has an exhibit of bikes built and owned by Bob Lewis. Bob set a new land speed record on his 1945 Harley Davidson at Bonneville Speed Week 2012 in the MPS-VF 1350 cc class. The old record of 130.960 mph was beat at 147.415 mph. BTW. . .Bob Lewis is in his early 70s. :woohoo:

Looks like a great exhibit.

Love that old stuff. Cool, Tonya.

I've been looking forward to this exhibit. I've gotten to meet Bob Lewis and he is a very cool man. Very quiet and unassuming. . .he shuns the spotlight as a rule.

See that he's running a gas class, wonder if he ever runs in a fuel class. One of the oldest I saw when I was there last year was a guy running a '53 pan in the side car division. |
