Pocono Hotel 2017 - Chapter THREE!!!
~HOTEL INFORMATION~
We will be staying at the Red Lion Inn, 1123 Lincoln Way East, Chambersburg, PA 17201, exit 16 off I-81 So. The phone no. is 717-263-9191. We currently have 10 doubles (2 queen beds) and 5 King singles (one already booked :SD2) blocked. The rate is $86.11 (total)/night for both the Queen doubles and the King singles. Make sure you reference the "Doof Clena group" when you book, in order to get the rate. This block of rooms will be held until booked or July 1st, whichever comes first. If additional rooms are needed, we may be able to add depending on availability. There is an indoor pool, fitness center, breakfast, and a small pavilion in the back lawn area with picnic table and benches. There is also a Ruby Tuesday attached to the hotel. If we book a minimum of 10 rooms, we have a 'meeting room' comped for Sat. night if needed.
Received a call late yesterday afternoon from the new G.M. at the Mountain Laurel Resort and it was not good news. She had to submit our group agreement to the 'Home office' Group Mgr. Seems our group pricing, which the new G.M. at the resort had agreed to did not meet his requirements. He told her $130/night for a standard room was the best they could do. But, he graciously ( ) agreed to hold last years rate for the six that had already booked. :nope:
Long story short.....it appears we will be looking for a new location/venue after all. :badmood:
There is a poll at the top of this thread that includes the two locations discussed in the other thread. I have a call in to SWMKND to see if Sandy still works at the hotel in Gettysburg. As for Mansfield, the Little League World Series is on in Williamsport. That is 45 miles from Mansfield and shouldn't present any problems other than possibly traveling through on the way there/home Please vote on which is your preference. If you have no preference, please vote for both and most votes will be the winner. Please vote SOON as I will need time to work out the logistics.
