Finally...

Started the gun permit application last week, NRA course in the bag. Need to get a few more forms and then....Wait. It's Westchester county NY...It's a frigging pain the ass, and it's not even full concealed carry. Those are amazingly difficult to get right off the bat.
One of the requirements is that you have to buy a gun first..Then have your local FFL hold it until your permit is approved....
So This is happening:

Nice!

Is it a M&P 2.0?

Or, the "old" one?

But it is from the performance shop...:woohoo:

Wait....

You have to buy (pay for) a gun, then wait for a permit to go get the gun you already paid for?

Or did I read that wrong?

God Bless Texas! AND Virginia... and the other states that allow a legal, law abiding citizen to purchase normal, regular firearms at will.

When I lived in Virginia, I bought my Kimber 1911, but I had my e on an LC9 at the same time. I didn't know all the rules, so I asked the guy how many guns per day, week, month I could purchase... His reply? "How much money ya got?"

Similar deal here. Now we need to be fingerprinted and pay a poll tax of $250 in order to buy a handgun. No carry permits to be had. Unfortunately DC declined to appeal their loss in the carry lawsuit to SCOTUS, so our law stands.

I asked what the waiting period in CO was one visit, the counter guy said once they had to wait a couple hours for the NICS to come back clear for one guy.

Sure am glad all these gun control laws have put a crimp into the criminals using guns in their crime acts.

Pretty much, $105 for the finger prints and background check and about a six month wait...The wait is actually for the finger print appointment.

SMFH...

After I get the permit, the Kimber is next. I'm going to support the local economy, since they're made In Yonkers NY...7 minutes away from me.

I feel for you Pepi

I’m glad to live in a state where it is SHALL issue a permit if you clear back round checks. Took a test, applied and the maximum wait allowed by law is 45 days. If not received in 45 days

“If the court has not issued the permit or determined that the applicant is disqualified within 45 days of the date of receipt noted on the application, the clerk shall certify on the application that the 45-day period has expired, and send a copy of the certified application to the applicant. The certified application shall serve as a de facto permit, which shall expire 90 days after issuance, and shall be recognized as a valid concealed handgun permit when presented with a valid government-issued photo identification until the court issues a five-year permit or finds the applicant to be disqualified. If the applicant is found to be disqualified after the de facto permit is issued, the applicant shall surrender the de facto permit to the court and the disqualification shall be deemed a denial of the permit and a revocation of the de facto permit. If the applicant is later found by the court to be disqualified after a five-year permit has been issued, the permit shall be revoked.”

I received mine in just over 30.

My FFL received a firearm I purchased and I was out the door in 5 minutes after filling out the paperwork. I have had to wait a few hours in the past when the background check system was overloaded.

I walked in to Academy knowing what I wanted, was back in my truck 15 minutes later with my new 3.3 XDs .45.

I thought it was ridiculous that a store employee followed me to the door to hand my gun to me as I walked out.
