NOT an Effective Hog Round

Just sayin'

Six inches from top of skull, firing downward entering centrally just aft of the eyes, a single tiny exit wound at base of throat bleeding only a little and the beast continues to bang the wire and be of generally unpleasant disposition while charging back and forth in the trap. Waiting several minutes for the expected calming effect was disappointing as she remained unsociable and resolutely unphased by the rearrangement of her cranial contents, evidently having suffered nothing more than a fowl taste in her mouth.
A second shot in the same spot at a slightly different angle did do the trick, but left me considering a different defense round. --- I am here: http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=32.426645,-94.864516 |

I've heard of hogs that died from the concussion, but the bullet did not penetrate the skull.

Single digit metric?

Methinks the central entry and exit may have missed the gray matter entirely?

I still trust that a 230 gr JHP .45 ACP will discourage any further confrontation.

That's why you do a double tap!

Probably why head shots on pigs weren't part of the Thompson-LaGarde tests.
