I was whining about it being 95 in Thermopolis today.

Put it in Celsius. Sounds more bearable that way, sorta like putting one's age into dog years.

We get a nice break today. Cooling down to 98

There are 254 counties in Texas and there are currently Burn Bans in 168 of them.
Some places have gotten a couple of decent showers, but what we need in Longview is a “significant” rain. By that I mean a rainy day, where it rains even lightly, all day long.
In the last three months we have had a few summer cloudbursts, over in twenty minutes.
The last “significant rain event” we had was the day I rode in it to Ingram... that was May 4th.
It’s August. Yes, I said MAY.
I’m not sure why Longview is so lucky but we often get the phenomena of an approaching storm front that is huge.... splitting up and avoiding us. Can’t figure that one out. It happens a lot.
