How often should i check my valve adjustment
sense i put adjustable push rods in it ,and i don't recall the clearance .all my papers are still in California, i think it was 3 to 3and 1/2 turns from zero cold

Shouldn't have to adjust them.

Unless the clacking drown's out the radio.............. ride it!!
Seriously though, it depends on the brand. Most are 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 turns. |
Ironheads use hydraulic lifters? If so, then never.
Otherwise, turns will vary based on brand due to varying threads per inch. As to how oftwn, dunno ******************************** Droid Global 2 and Tapatalk reinstall # 5 |
I put my adjustables in about, what, 3 years ago when I did my build ..... about 35K miles later, have never ck'd them since they went in ....... when to ck them ..... when there's a problem I guess .... otherwise, I just ride it :)

thanks i just thought that i should be ck once and a while just like cars or they might bern a valve if they get to tight . I'm getting a noise now on left turns only i hope its a wheel bearing if not I'm screwed
|
ck the low speed muffler bearing ...... I had that problem once, forget now what I did to fix it ..... old here in SC ya know
|
i now notice a noise when going left hopefully it's a wheel bearing , also i thought i should do valve adjustment to keep from burning valves like on older cars
|
Check your front tire for cupping.
Sounds like a bad bearing buzz in a left turn on my RoadKing and it'll be cupped on the left side. No idea why but it'll cup about the same time the rear wears out. Been unable to find anything wrong.:badmood: |
