Really? You can tell when there is vibration on a Harley? :Poke:

Bone Stockman 03-31-2011 04:15 PM

Wasn't .013 already the replacement threshold?

Xkvator 03-31-2011 05:02 PM

same stuff...new date...

If the vehicle is out of warranty, remove the crankshaft and check on a truing stand. Discuss the appropriate repair options with the customer

Peckerheads better call before they remove the crankshaft, not after. :roflback:

No, not quite... Looks like they're applying new standards to old engines.

My 05 had excessive run out with only .007 3 years ago when anything over .005 was considered excessive.. Extended warranty paid me enough to have Dave install a S&S stroked flywheel during the 103 upgrade. :whistling:

Seriously now, how can the run out be considered within limits when the wear limit specification for the pump is .003? When the run out exceeds .003, somethings going to give at the pump.

At the 1:00 mark, it shows the crank assembly being pressed together. How hard would it be for them to add that little extra step of pressing a plug and welding it via robot right there on the line...assuming that it's true at assembly?

Well now that's the question. On the old 88 pumps the spec was .003, but what is it on the new pumps? I can't imagine that an engine is gonna run very long with the crank out .010 though, especially in a Delinquent's bike.

It amazes me that I haven't really damaged the BSL yet.

I thought I remembered .003.

Wonder what the vibration is like at .012?

Thank god I re-upped my extended warranty.

Patti and I were there that last Friday when it was nearly 80*..

Funny though, I don't recall it taking that long to the top.
