SPAM and The Origins
|
I don't think I've ever (knowingly) eaten Spam. My inboxes, however, have been regularly inundated with spam (stupid pathetic annoying messages).

Remove SPAM from can, lay on side, slice into 1/4 - 1/2 inch, not all the way through!, put onion slices between the SPAM slices, place in "baking dish", cover with Boston baked beans, or canned beans of choice, cover with BBQ sauce or other seasoning sauce of choice, (can also cover beans with some brown sugar) Bake at (I can't recall the temperature or time) 350°?, until the onion slices are soft.
Serve... So many of these types of food were economical, for working class families eating paycheck to paycheck, but now are expensive for what they are, take chipped beef for making SOS or calves liver and onion. Skirt steak used to be relativity cheap, but now such cuts of meat are sold as specialty foods that are sold at higher prices. |
I think Spam is the state meat of Hawaii

Spam can only be eaten on sandwich bread after being cut with a rusty knife on a picnic table. Lays chips are the preferred side item.

This is a great thread. It has totally ruined my appetite, a plus when one wants to lose ten pounds. Thanks!

Practically grew up on the stuff.
Thin sliced, fried... still like it! |

I had a Deviled Ham sandwich yesterday. It was excellent with Durkee's Famous Sandwich and Salad Sauce. I am a fan of Spam as well.
