July 31st Paris, Texas ride....

I met Slick (Curt) and Bobby Orr (JacK) at a gas station near FM 407 and HWY 377. Jack led us around Denton and we ended up back on 377 north to Pilot Point where we took FM 455 east. I'm here to tell you that FM 455 is one great road to ride. We passed many bikes headed west. We met up with Par Fore (Alan) in Van Alstyn. From there we took every small road we could find that would lead us to Paris. We went through Bugtussle and Honey Grove before we made it to Paris. When is Paris, one must visit the local HD/ H%nda/Y@m@h@ dealership. Once you are there, you can acquire one of several shirts to choose from. I chose this one

I can't explain why the shirt looks blue on the front and black on the back.

Once the swag was secured, we asked around and determined that we should ride to Jaxx's Hamburgers and partake.

This is their 454 Burger, one patty with Swiss and American cheese, three strips of bacon, jalapeños and all the trimmings.

I had a great time. It was great to meet Alan and ride with Jack and Curt again.

After we ate we sought out the Mini Eifel Tower. I'm sure the French would find it to be highly gauche, with a red cowboy hat on top. This ain't France,

Here's a bi-lingual warning at the base of the tower. Hell, if you were to grab hold of the steel today, it would have burned your hand.

Here is kind of a cool pic of the towers shadows over a granite insert of Texas beneath the tower.

As we rode into Paris on Hwy 82 we saw all these old tractors. There must be at least fifty of them. I've never seen anything like it. The pictures won't do it justice.

Very excellent, Skip.

Glad y'all got out for a putt today.

That field of tractors is way cool!

I see some John Deeres, some Farmalls, an Allis-Chalmers, and one or two Minneapolis-Molines in that lineup.

Looks like the JDs had the thickest paint! Or mebbe green just a more durable color.

Sounds like a great excursion. I'd probably spent a lot of time looking at that tractor collection.

A few more pics from today. Doof's at the Eifel tower and tractors. The last one's from this evening.

It was great to ride with Skip, Jack and Curt. I did not envy that last hour they had after I peeled off. It was downright HOT out there. A cool 102 dooficially they say.

Havta mention that we were part of a :80pxdoofloop: too. :whistling:

Great day. Thanks to Skip for setting this one up.

There's one of those multi-brand type places in Roswell, NM too. . .

I have to tell you, we earned those shirts on the way home. We had fun though.
