$515 dollars later...

New tires are on the Fat Blob. Thorn rides it to school daily so I wanted him to be on a safe ride, so we rode to the dealer Saturday and had them do it. I had 205 dealer dollars I used to ease the pain a little.

Wow, and I thought $444 was outrageous when I was quoted that for a pair of E3s if I brought the wheels to the shop.

I put new tires on the shovel yesterday. $210 and a couple of hours work w/ a gimpy hand and the no longer available Harbor Freight tire changer.

You could have bought a new sump pump in the middle of a hurricane for that :badmood:

It was an Avon WWW not a GangstaWall and it was only $270 including air freight and installation. The OEM Dunflop from the dealers inventory last year was $362.

Yeah, but it's the thought that counts.

For reference, Tom, I had a case of Venom poisoning at ES this year...
OE Dunlop from PigTrail hit me for $398.90 installed. (that's just one tire, BTW)
If we're having a whine tasting I could throw in the tally from the Junction Melt Down.

But I don't like whine.

Such is the cost of the road. My previous Avons and Metzlers were installed by yours truly for substantially less cost. The dealer break out was approx:tire~240; labor~ 90-95; taxes, fees~the rest.

I could have saved big bux if I was willing to go blackwall. I could run E3s for one thing, but in a pinch, there are many brands available at the metric shops and at indys and the carnage at the HD dealer could be avoided.
So, its somewhat self-inflicted injury; I'm not whining. Just offered as reference.

I'm assuming the Dunflop still has tread on it but I wouldn't know. I changed it when I put on a new front tire this spring.

Did I mention I'm not a fan of the OEM Dunflops...

Redleg 08-29-2011 12:04 PM

You shoulda bought Shinko Smokebombs. Just sayin'.
