LED Shop lights. Today Only Sale
at Sam's club.
I picked some up for the new digs. The "pros" are many and the price is great. There are two "cons" about these (for some folks) 1. They are 5000 Kelvin, so super-white. Some people dislike this. 43. They are NOT 'diffused', the 'lens' is clear, the light can seem harsh unless on a pretty high ceiling. I'm sure there are a dozen ways that one could soften the light by adding something to or modifying the clear lens. |
Love the ones I have in my garage. Mine are motion sense, Costco was out of the ones with the pull chain and could be linked. Have to adjust the stay on time to be a bit longer, they go out when I am laying on the ground futzing with the bike.
Hate the "warehouse" large sodium type, gives a yellow / orange cast to the interior of the work areas. Also it does something to tweak my eyes. But light meters say they are giving out the "correct" lumens. Read something the other day about some people get headaches from LED space lighting, something about the LED's cycle off / on in operation and it affects them? I suggested making them 3 cycle so only a third of the LED's inside the "bulb" are off at a time... |
ive replaced flourescents in the kitchen with LED's form Home Depot...great light, but even though the led's last a long time, the controller in there doesn't...makes the light blink on and off...luckily they have a 5 year guarantee...

Yeah, I bought a couple of LED tubes and installed them in my Old Tube florescent fixture in the garage, an hour later the fixture was toast.
Wouldn't turn on anymore... But the LED's do come on at 0° f temps in the garage.:woohoo: |
