I know a friend (Not Smart Dave) who has a performance shop. He said performance wise, not getting many requests for upgrades as they run good.
Having said that, I know he's torn down a bunch of them for engine failures.
Lifters, oil pumps. Most were covered by manufacturers warranty, but some were just out of warranty. I know Harley is trying to address it, but I'd likely not buy one now. Sales dropped another 10 percent in 2018.
If you do, I'd seriously consider the extended warranty and make no changes until it's expired.
