My neighbor ran one on his dual sport for a few years. He got it mainly for the weight savings. Pros that he saw was zero discharge over the winter months, but he had no security system on his bike. Cons was that he said he couldn't use a standard battery charger on it for some reason, not sure of the details there, may have had to do with his "smart" charger. He never had to charge it, but that was something he noted with it.
